We walked up the valley by the Avisio to Canazei and then took
the Belvedere ski lift to the top. The walk was another from the brochure
following the contour path, the Bindelweg, up the valley towards Marmolada and
the reservoir at the head of the valley, Lago Fedaia. This was easy walking but
with glorious views. It was also well-populated including another Thompsons'
group (probably from Val Gardena) of about 40 people.
We left the Bindelweg at Viel dal Pan, where it starts to
descend. We walked on a level path into a col. I then did an extension to the
path up the bump to the east of the col climbing Sas de Chiapel. This involved a
bit of a scramble as the top is quite rocky. Pause to take a few photos and then
return to Beryl. The brochure walk took us westwards back along the ridge (a two
scary face path) This was another lovely path with lots of flowers.
Back down the cable cars and walk back down the valley to
Campitello
